DreadBall: TournaRaz 2k14: Day One - Match One

Today started our very first league, the TournaRaz 2k14!
This league, exisiting of 6 players is our very first league and tries to follow the standard DreadBall league rules. We've decided to do one "Playday" per 14 days, giving all players enough time to meet up and complete their matchup. Everyone that wants does get to do an additional matchup per "playday" . After day 5, there will be a final playoff to decide the final 4 places.

As an opener to the League, the first matchup was a Veer-Myn team "The Veer-Myn Vermin" challenged by the Marauder team "Scotch n Gin". Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures..
These two starting teams are both very eager to get this league on the way. The Veer-Myn launch the ball, starting of this league!

"Veer-Myn Vermin"   vs.   "Scotch n Gin"

Rush 1 - "Veer-Myn Vermin"

the veer-myn try to move up, but quickly fumble on throwing the ball, quickly ending the first rush.

Rush 2 - "Scotch n Gin"

The Orx marauders instantly take out two rats for some turns with brutal smashes while the goblins pick up the ball throwing it forwards, but failing to receive.

Rush 3 - "Veer-Myn Vermin"

Rat Number 7, Snikch, comes in game and immediately picks up the ball. He throws the ball far but it gets caught by sheer luck by number 3, Ikit, which subsequently scores giving the Veer-Myn Vermin the lead by one!

Rush 4 - "Scotch n Gin"

Feeling threatened by the early score, the orx number 6, Gordon Dry, goes and bashes in rat number 7, Snikch, actually killing him. After that orx number 7, Bombay Sapphire, slaughters rat number 1, Skrolk, with a brutal 7 wounds smash!
The goblins pick up the ball and storm towards the furthest scoring zone, but in scoring, thus losing the ball.

Rush 5 - "Veer-Myn Vermin"

Going into vendetta mode, the Veer-Myn guards go and knock down some of the goblins, Rat number 6, Queek, even succeeds in killing goblin number 3, Johnnie Walker!

Rush 6 - "Scotch n Gin"

Feeling suddenly threatened by the sheer number of remaining rats, the orx retreat, and go for another slaughter, luckily the Veer-Myn dodge all the incoming blows. While the goblins try to throw the ball ahead, they fail and it scatters again.

Rush 7 - "Veer-Myn Vermin"

The Veer-myn use their rush to go into defensive positions and block all possible strike zones, getting ready for a charge.

Rush 8 - "Scotch n Gin"

The Orx knock down another rat, while the others try and push further forward to score a restauring point.

Rush 9 - "Veer-Myn Vermin"

The rats try to fight back the oncoming marauders, but can't seem to do any damage to the stronger marauders.

Rush 10 - "Scotch n Gin"

The Goblins go in and try to score, but they fail once again. The coach even throw in his coaching die, making this fail even more sad.

Rush 11 - "Veer-Myn Vermin"

The rats try to strenghten their position on the field, knocking down some goblins while picking up the ball.

Rush 12 - "Scotch n Gin"

Feeling the pressure, the marauders go in for a final assault but the nimble rats dodge the incoming blows without casualties.

Rush 13 - "Veer-Myn Vermin"

Number 2, Thanquol, picks up the ball and runs forward making a miraculous 2 pointer! The rats are now in a comfortable 3 point lead.

Rush 14 - "Scotch n Gin"

The ball gets thrown in and knocks down poor number 4, Black Grouse, who was standing in the way of the ball. The other goblins pick up the ball, and try to get it ahead.
They throw the ball ahead, and number 1, William Lawson tries to make a miraculous 4 score shot!.. excitement along.. just one die, to decide an entire match...

it's a three (four was needed!)... ending this match on a bombshell!
Fear the Vermin

Aftermath

the Veer-min won the match with a well deserved 0-3, netting them 2 league points! Their lost rat brother 1 is mourned while rat 7 makes a complete recovery.
The orx goblin number 4 gets awarded as MVP and while they tried to revive goblin 5 the power fell out, stripping him of some of his original strenght.

Both teams return home feeling like they played the most exciting game of dreadball of their lives!

The goblin who lost strength should be dead, assuming he does not already have a strength bonus

???
A goblin has starting strength 5+. One instance of muscle wasting freezer burn will only reduces that to 6+. Players only die if a stat is modified worse than 6+.
