Senran Kagura Burst: Review (3DS)

Boobs. This actually sums up the entire game. This side scrolling anime action game written by Tamsoft brings the players a very edgy "ecchi" title to the european market. So I've placed my 3DS to his full 3D, and dove right in (the cleavage!)

the story...

Senran Kagura Burst tells the story about a school of girls (around 16 years) being trained by their teacher to Shinobi ninja. Not only to carry on the proud tradition, but also to prevent an other evil school from gaining too much power. And you get to choose which clan you want to help to victory.

the gameplay...

Every storyline (evil and good) consists of 5 chapters, each about 10 missions.  (Every mission takes you about 5 - 10 minutes.)  These missions consist of bashing your buttons as fast and repetitive as possible in order to kill your enemies. there isn't really that much of a damage model if you take damage, but every so hits, you lose part of your clothing during a 3-5 seconds clip. This happens twice, until only her bikini is left. Luckily for the perverts among us, you can start in bikini by choosing to play in a "frantic mode". This allows you to do more damage, at the cost of your endurance.

What do we have here?

By playing though the missions, not only do you increase the strength of your harem, but you also unlock extra costumes, and accessoiries, all of them just leaving less to your imagination. If that isn't enough to get your motor running, the girls all have a very open friendship when talking to eachother.

Long story short

Senran Kagura Burst is drenched by sexual inuendo, breasts and unthought dialog. This is only made worse by repetitive and a boring level design. It is very obvious that his game was only made with one thing in mind, being horny young boys, perving on bewbs. So if this is what you're after, you'll LOVE this game. If not, then I advise you to find better ways of testing that 3D on your 3DS (can I advice you The Legend of Zelda - A Link Between Worlds?)
