Fishies fishies!

Today was our most relaxed day thus far. We woke up at 9h30 (darn, missed our breakfast..) and went lazily on our way to the aquarium!
This is but the exterior!

Osaka Aquarium

After getting disallowed from the Lego Discovery Center,  because we didn't have any children with us, we decided to go to the aquarium. (j/k of course, Lego Discovery is great and we went to the one in Germany last year with the kids!). This aquarium is one of the biggest in the world, and one of the most beautiful as well.
Lunch time!
No fancy shows here, but true to their environment, humongous aquaria. Biggest being more than 500.000 liters!
Just a small school of fishes
They've divided their aquaria to represent different areas around the "Ring of Fire", the most vulcanically active area of the world and the fishes (and some other animals) to match. Their biggest tank houses huge wale sharks as well as smaller family members and stingrays, while others have complete schools of fishes swarming through or even this crab tank.
Crab people, craaab people..
Lest to say this left a big impression on us, and we didn't mind spending several hours enjoying the beauty of these tanks. We even got to pet some rays and small sharks before heading out the door.
Enjoying the good life..

Umeda

Umeda houses some big shopping centres. One of which peaked our interest, because it housed Joypolis. A gamecenter by Sega. It takes up 2 stories and contains some 3D simulators that persuaded us to join the fun.
No water splashing though..
Wildriver was a really fun simulator of a rafting trip gone wrong. We enjoyed some smaller games afterwards and were bedazzled by the skills of some of those players in the arcades. The Japanese really turn those games into professional jobs. We even had the chance to see the blood drive of the Japanese Red Cross in action. Didn't harass them though ;-)
Our truck is bigger and nicer :-P

Dotonbori

With the evening coming we went to the sparkling center of Osaka, Dotonbori. By day this is a big shopping district allowing you to find whatever curio you need, but when night falls it turns into a shining place of music and light.
Day and night is quite the difference
We were again persuaded by the arcades and enjoyed some fine shooter action before calling it a night. The day ended as relaxing as it started and we're glad we're only halfway!

Just some of the aquarium stamps!
